Cranial & Facial Gua Sha Massage

....You're in Capable Hands!

How does Cranial and Facial Gua Sha work?

Cranial and Facial Gua Sha are forms of massage using a smooth-edged tool made of stone or metal, and is applied with gentle pressure, gliding over the skin and underlying tissue to release tension. Cranial gua sha involves working over the scalp, forehead, temples and the neck, relaxing the muscles and tissues around the scalp and forehead releasing tension. Facial gua sha relaxes the facial muscles, forehead, and while increasing blood circulation to the skin. The gentle strokes can help shift interstitial fluid, which can reduce puffiness around the cheeks and under eyes, which can also make the face look more defined.

What are the benefits?

The benefits include reduced facial tension, puffiness, more definition and a natural glow. It also eases muscular tightness in the jaw, scalp, temples and neck. Like other forms of massage, it can feel calming and may help reduce stress.

What happens in a session?

The face is cleansed and prepared before gentle stokes and pressure are applied, as well as gentle massage around the shoulders and neck and base of the skull. The practitioner may use their hands and/or a gua sha tool across the scalp, temples and areas around the ears, the cheeks, cheekbones, forehead, brow area and sometimes around the nose. You may feel gentle scraping, pressure or rhythmic strokes.

This gentle technique revitalises your cranial and facial areas, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being that radiates from within.
